For a while now, students have been studying what good writer's do, looking in particular at the 'writing traits' (idea, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency and conventions).

We have also spent some time studying narrative traits pertaining to plot, character and setting, and other aspects, like the importance of a good title, emotional arcs/journeys, etc.

Students then had a chance to apply their understanding of all those traits by writing a narrative of their own.

Here is our online class book (not completed yet...more to come!) showcasing student narratives!
